Jefferson

< 08/08/08 - Olympiad | Home | "You like boats, but not the ocean." >

I saw Jefferson’s face in the capitol

he was looking to the sky

and there were dreams on the walls all around him

but we took snapshots of ourselves in our eyes

Brightly lit by setting sun

our voices echoed in doric temple

and he hung overhead like an eaglehawk

from a time when they were still endangered

The fat cops on capitol hill

with their thousand yard stares and bellyguts

huddled close together, whispered musings on

the futures of great nations

Jefferson bore his eyes into the sunset

and the reflecting pool shone green
